About Us

this sister store to baked & wired offers the same type of food we eat at home – simple cooking done well.

we are now closing at 2pm on monday and tuesday for the time being in order to give our hardworking staff a bit of a break. thank you for understanding!

we are currently only offering takeout, pickup, and delivery! everything handled by joint staff is handled in a food-safe way and we have taken maximum precaution to promote social distancing.

Our Bread

Our bread is handmade on site and baked daily using organic wheat and a long, naturally leavened fermentation process to bring out the maximum flavor and nutrition out of the grain. No commercial yeast here, we mix by hand the way it’s been done for hundreds of years.

Organic rolled milled wheat flour, durum flour, sea salt, wild yeast culture, fresh yeast. Traditional Parisian loaf with complex flavor due to long fermentation. Creamy yellowish crumb. (V)

Challah

Roller milled wheat flour, organic eggs, sugar, vegetable oil, yeast, sea salt. A traditional braided Jewish egg bread. Slightly sweetened and soft.

Country Sourdough

Organic roller milled wheat flour, organic whole wheat flour, organic dark rye flour, sea salt, wild yeast culture. Your daily bread, naturally leavened with a moist open crumb, slightly sour flavor and caramelized crust. (V)

Cinnamon Raisin Walnut Sourdough

Organic roller milled wheat flour, organic whole wheat flour, organic dark rye flour, cinnamon, toasted walnuts, golden raisins, sea salt, wild yeast culture. (V)

Kalamata Olive & Rosemary

Organic roller milled wheat flour, organic high extraction flour, organic rye flour, kalamata olives, rosemary, sea salt, oregano, wild yeast culture. (V)

Tomato Rosemary (Focaccia)

Organic roller milled wheat flour, sea salt, wild yeast culture. (V)

Caramelized Onion (Focaccia)

Goat cheese and rosemary. Organic roller milled wheat flour, sea salt, wild yeast culture.

Multi Grain

Organic roller milled wheat flour, organic high extraction flour, organic cracked seeds (hard wheat, corn, barley, rye), millet, oats, brown flax seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds. Our version of your everyday multi grain sandwich loaf. (V)

Pain De Mie

Roller milled wheat flour, milk, milk powder, eggs, sugar, sea salt, instant yeast. Our “wonder” bread.

Polenta

Organic high extraction flour, organic whole wheat flour, organic roller milled wheat flour, semolina flour, cornmeal, olive oil, rosemary, sea salt, black pepper, wild yeast culture. Creamy polenta creates a custardy moist crumb. (V)

Quinoa-Turmeric

Organic roller milled wheat flour, organic high extraction flour, quinoa, turmeric, black pepper, za’atar, sea salt, honey, wild yeast culture.

Seeded Wheat

Organic high extraction flour, organic whole wheat flour, organic roller milled wheat flour, flaxseeds, toasted sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, toasted sunflower seeds, sea salt, wild yeast culture. Rich seedy flavor with bonus nutrients. (V)

Sesame Semolina

Italian semolina flour, organic roller milled wheat flour, toasted sesame seeds, filtered water, sea salt, wild yeast culture. Semolina adds yellow color, smooth texture and a slightly nutty flavor. (V)

Tomato & Herb

Organic roller milled wheat flour, tomato paste, sea salt, black pepper, oregano, Parmigiano Reggiano, wild yeast culture.

Special Orders

You can order cakes, pies, cookies, brownies, quiche, donut muffins and (a lot) more online through our sister bakery baked & wired. You must place your order at least 48 hours in advance. Pick up at a baked joint or have your items delivered! our delivery is contact-free. we’ll ring your doorbell, drop the order, and wait six feet away until you pick up : )

We also now accept advanced bulk orders for select breads and pastries! Please note: we require at least 72 hours notice, and you must meet the minimum order quantities. Call our kitchen at 703-663-8727 to place your order (the phones are staffed between the hours of 10am-5pm daily!)
